Behavior Counseling

At Animal Care Center of North Jersey, we believe that addressing behavior issues, whether they are the result of age, a health problem, or simply a matter of training, is extremely important to maintaining the bond you have with your pet.

Behavior problems are something most pet owners face at one time or another. It’s always important to rule out a medical or physical cause for the behavior first, especially if it is a sudden change. Pets can’t tell you when something is wrong, so the behavior could be the symptom of a serious health problem.

Some typical behavior concerns we can help you with include:

  • Separation anxiety
  • Noise aversion
  • Inappropriate elimination/litterbox issues
  • Excessive barking
  • Obsessive licking/lick granulomas
  • Chewing
  • Pica/Coprophagia
  • Aggression/Irritability

If you notice your pet acting abnormally, please schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible. Our veterinarians and technicians have the training and experience to assess and assist with most behavior issues.
